The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes took full management of the CSKT Bison Range in 2022. Managment practices have changed since then, including during the bi-annual 'Gathering', where staff like supervisory biologist Shannon Clairmont corral the bison at their own pace, to test for disease and auction off surplus.
